| Import a text file into an Access database Tutorial | ||
|
Import records into your Access database table by importing the data which is held in
a text file. The text file already has all the fields separated by commas which Access then
reads and dumps into your Access database. What you will need to complete this set of steps is: |

Open your Access database.

Make sure that the table that you are importing to is not open. On the File menu select File > Get External Data > Import.

Browse to the directory that contains your import text file. In other words, the file
that was exported from the Web application. Select the Files of type as Text Files located near
the bottom of the selection box with scroller.

Highlight the text file and click Import.

Look at the Sample data box to ensure things look correct and then click Next.

Check the First Row contains Field Names checkbox and click Next.

Select In an Existing Table and the select your table which will receive the new
data and then click Next.

Click Finish.

Click Ok.

Check your database table to ensure that the data was imported correctly.
